The Finished Mandolin
Below are the visual results of my mandolin project. Overall, I'm very happy with how it turned out. Now you may be thinking something like, "Well, it certainly looks good, but what about the sound?" so here is my biased and unapologetic opinion. I am pleased with both the sound of the mandolin and how it plays, especially when played finger style. The low action and light strings makes for easy fretting. It is a bit plucky and harsh when played with a pick, but still sounds ok. If I make another, I'd like to experiment with different bracing patterns to see how much I can influence the sound.
